4 Things You Definitely Want To Check Out In Rapid City This Fall

Growing up I always had a love-hate relationship with the fall season. It marked the end of summer, the end of hot weather (sometimes), and the start of school. However, the older I get the more I come to realize just how amazing this season is in Rapid City. The changing of colors is dazzling, the crisp air is something you will actually want to bottle up and take home with you, and the whole town embraces the start of a new season. If you are planning to come to the area during the fall you won’t be disappointed, and you’ll definitely want to make time for these four things.

1. Our Breweries.

To sum it up for you – our local breweries rock. They work beer magic and create some amazing tasting brews. During the fall season you might just be lucky enough to catch one of their limited seasonal taps that rock the house. Also, as an added bonus for dog lovers (myself included), Lost Cabin and Dakota Point are welcoming and friendly to our four-legged family members!

My Pick: My fiancé and I love going places with our dogs so we are frequent visitors at Lost Cabin (my dog Rew featured above). The atmosphere is great to kick back, relax and talk or play games with friends.

2. Our Coffee Shops.

I admit it, I am a sucker for pumpkin flavored everything in the fall. Our local coffee shops welcome the new season by bringing forward delightful flavors like pumpkin, hazelnut, cinnamon wonderfulness, and so much more that will leave you and your taste buds happy.

My Pick: Harriet & Oak has a quirky atmosphere that’s hard not to love the moment you walk in, plus the food and coffee is amazing.

3. Our Parks.

Rapid City parks do fall, and they do it well. From miles of bike paths, to picnic areas, to water activities, and around 20+ miles of trails all within Rapid City, our parks offer a way for you to get outside and enjoy everything about the fall season. The best part? They are just as picturesque as the Black Hills themselves.

My Pick: M Hill located in Hanson-Larsen Memorial Park. It’s a great hike right in Rapid City that offers stunning views.

4. Our Events.

Is it really even fall if you don’t catapult a pumpkin? The answer is no. The events in Rapid City are a great way to top off your entire adventure. From the Great Downtown Pumpkin Festival to a local favorite called Bierbose, our events are a guaranteed way to experience in the culture and camaraderie of the area.

My Pick: It would be impossible to just pick one, they are all awesome and worth attending.

Cool weather, great drinks, delicious treats, breathtaking views, and events you’ll always remember. All ingredients needed for a spectacular fall getaway, and all in Rapid City.
