Basil, Tomatoes, Olive Oil, Wine…Just a few of my favs
Botticelli Ristorante Italiano. Not only is this one of my favorite Italian restaurants but it is a local favorite as well. While the space is cozy and very welcoming, the best part about it is the food and wine! Withstanding the test of time in the heart of Downtown Rapid City, this restaurant has been around since 1997. The saying, “…it gets better with age” certainly resonates here. The menu is inspired by the traditional classic flavors of Sicily and the subtle complexity of Tuscany…need I say more? The flavors in each dish never disappoint, here are a few from my most recent visit…
Crispy Toscana bread grilled and topped with juicy roma tomatoes, capers (tangy heaven), onion and basil. My taste buds kept asking for more, definitely qualifies this restaurant as #TasteBudParadise. You would think, who can mess up bruschetta, but trust me you can. Botticelli’s knows how to give you a great culinary experience, this is just the start.
Panini, Caesar and Tomato Bisque
Olive oil, artichokes, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, prosciutto and mozzarella married together between two pieces of Ciabatta bread. Love all these flavors together! To go along with it, creamy and chunky (mmmm…) Tomato Bisque soup topped with extra cheese. For some reason I always forget to say stop when they ask to let them know when they’ve grated enough cheese on top…can never have too much cheese on anything! And then there’s the Caesar salad…fresh greens and the perfect blend of dressing and cheese. Top it all off with a smooth glass of red wine and I’d say this is one of the best lunch breaks I’ve had in a long time. I may just have to go back for dinner tonightJ. #TasteBudParadise
